New Arrivals

We received a shipment from ACD today, including a few new things...

The new Starship Troopers miniature game from Mongoose came out with a starter box and one squad box each for Troopers and Bugs.

Two more items in the new Warhammer Fantasy RPG line, The Game Master Pack and The Old World Bestiary. The newest Battletech book, Combat Equipment is here as well.

Two new games from Z-man, Saboteur (somewhat like Bang, but you don't get killed) and Santiago (in the trading and building genre). China, a new game from Uberplay based on Web of Power is here too. This looks like a cool new twist on the classic strategy game. Lastly, we have two sets of the new Star Wars Saga Edition chess pieces!

HeroClix Event

We had a great turnout for Wednesday's HeroClix tournament! Fourteen players competed in the "Team Theme" event, which was won by Kevin. Players built their 300-point teams around an unusual theme, such as 'Big Robots', or 'All Figures Have 7 Letters in their Names'. The winning team concept was Jay's 'Everybody Loves a Clown', which included Joker, Harley Quinn, Kabuki, Siamese, and Shi. The runner-up team theme was Colby's 'People Who Look Constipated', featuring Mongul and Wolverine. Congratulations also go to JP, who won the Fellowship award. Next Wednesday's event is another 300-point battle, this time using Battlefield Conditions. Each round will have a different random Battlefield Condition affect play. Come join the fun on Wednesday, May 4 at 6:00pm!

HeroClix Event

Thanks to all who played this past Wednesday. Congratulations to Jay who won the 5-round event, and to Madison (aka Bibi), who won the Sportsmanship award. This next week is our Team Theme event! Create a 300-point team around a clever team theme, like all female figures, or all figures with animal names. Play begins at 6pm and is FREE!

New Friday Arrivals!

In RPGs today we have the newest Werewolf book, Hunting Grounds: The Rockies, as well as Aspect Book Water and Glades of Death (d20) from White Wolf. Two new Ars Magica books are in, Guardians of the Forests and True Lineages. The next book in the Paranoia XP series, Flashbacks, has arrived. We also got two more copies of Talislanta d20 in!

For the card gamers, today's shipments included the new Legend of the Five Rings CCG set, Enemy of My Enemy.

In the Boardgame category, we saw Amazonia from Mayfair Games, and a restock of Killer Bunnies. We also received two new titles from Avalon Hill/Hasbro, Monsters Menace America and Star Wars Risk.

Lots of other favorite titles were restocked, so come in and check them out!

Miniatures Painting Workshop

For all of you gaming miniature painters out there, this Saturday the 16th is another great workshop at Compleat Games & Hobbies. Come by and share your ideas and techniques or pick up new ones! Things start about Noon and run to 3:00 or so. And it's all FREE!

HeroClix Event

We had another great turnout this past Wednesday, with 15 players battling. Congratulations to John who took the top spot, and to Corey, who won the Sportsmanship award. This next week we're having a 100-point sluggathon! Bring your best 100-point team and battle it out over 5 rounds! Play begins at 6pm and is FREE!

We had 17 participants in last Wednesday's event. Congratulations to Jay and Jeremy, and thanks to all who played! Our next event is Wednesday, April 13, from 6 until 8pm. For this event, bring two teams, each one worth four hundred points. For each match, your opponent will choose which of the two teams you get to play with! Questions? Call Ty at the store (473-1116). New stuff Friday!

We received copies of two new D&D books today, Races of Eberron and Lords of Madness.

We also received the new Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay books from Green Ronin/Black Library. It looks really good! The first supplement and the character sheets also came in.

For those of you eagerly awaiting the arrival of Ingenious from Fantasy Flight, wait no longer! We have a good number of copies in stock now!

Other new items include Talislanta d20, Green Ronin's Advanced Player's Handbook, and restock of Deliria.

HeroClix Event

We play HeroClix every Wednesday evening in the game room, getting over a dozen participants each night. This Wednesday, April 6, from 6 to 8pm, we are playing a 400-point battle. Requirements are that each character must have a team power, but that each character on your team must use a different team power. There is no entry fee. We hope to see you there!
