HeroClix Event for Wednesday, July 6

Come join us for a Blast From the Past! Journey with us back to those thrilling days of yesteryear...when all these heroes and villains were just starting to get the hang of beating each other silly. Bring your favorite Rookies, start in the mailroom and work your way up! 300 points, no Experienced/Veteran/Unique/LE figures. Rookies only! Everyone is welcome. Play begins at 6pm and is FREE!

Wednesday releases

WOO-HOO! Heroclix Fantastic Forces is here! Come and get them while they're hot! A great new lineup of new figures including a bunch of double-sized figs. Also featuring some great new version of your old favorites. Of course, the Fantastic Four is in the set, both as basic rares and as new super-rares with secret identity names!

The second lineup for Anachronism is also in featuring four new personalities each from Egypt, Great Britain, China and Mongolia. The new starter features Ramses II vs. Genghis Khan! This is a great game for those of you who are a little burned out on the traditional randomly collectible card games.

New Stuff

Shadows Over Camelot is here! I had a chance to play this at GTS 2005 with the game designers and a number of other industry dignitaries, and I must say, it rocks! In my opinion, this is one of the best new games out this year, along with FFG's Ingenious. SOC is a cooperative game where the players are knights of the round table, but beware, one of you may be a traitor! Good stuff for 3 to 7 players.

Dark Champions: The Animated Series is also here from Hero Games.

Friday Arrivals

New stuff today! The delayed Waterdeep, City of Splendors book for the D&D Forgotten Realms setting finally showed up. WOTC also shipped us Star Wars Ultimate Missions: Revenge of the Sith.

White Wolf has a good showing with The Wurst of Grimtooth's Traps, Dead Man's Chest, and Transcendence for d20, as well as Mysterious Places for World of Darkness.

Goodman Games brings us the latest in it's classic dungeoncrawls, Curse of the Emerald Cobra. Mongoose has the new Infernum RPG, and Green Ronin's Advanced Gamemaster's Guide is in too.

40K Rogue Trader Event

It's official!

Compleat Games & Hobbies will be hosting a Rogue Trader Tournament on Saturday, August 20th. The tournament will be limited to 14 players, so come by and reserve your spot today! The entry fee will be $5 and prizes will be awarded!

The games will start at 10:00 am, so get here at 9:30 and be ready to play!

Friday releases

Big news today, Wizards of the Coast releases the Dungeon Master's Guide II today! It's big and beefy, the first new core-book in decades. For all you DMs who lament the onslaught of player-oriented books, here's one just for you!

They have also released d20 Apocalypse for those modern fans that want to run a road warrior-style game.

New Stuff

Pirates of the Revolution releases today! The third set in the wildly popular Pirates collectible/constructable miniatures game is ready to sail with new American ships as well as new ships for all your other favorite fleets.

White Wolf has also released the latest installment in the new Vampire the Requiem series, City of the Damned: New Orleans. Also from WW is Cult of the Illuminated for Exalted and The Book of Roguish Luck for all you d20 players.

HeroClix Local Qualifying Tournament at Compleat Games & Hobbies!

Come join us on Saturday, June 11, at 4:30pm for the Third Cycle of the Wizard World HeroClix Invitational Championship! This is one of several local qualifying tournaments being held around the state. This is a 300-point restricted constructed tournament, and the cost is $5, payable in advance or on the day of the event.

Come be a part of the excitement everyone is talking about, and start your journey to the Championship tournament, to be held at Wizard World Chicago.

Saviors of Kamigawa

The newest edition of Magic: The Gathering releases tomorrow morning at store open! Saviors of Kamigawa is the last set in the Kamigawa block and promises to bring many new and interesting deck types to the game.

Compleat will be hosting a Saviors RELEASE EVENT on Saturday June 4th at 10:00 am. Yes, this is earlier than standard events, but we want to make sure everyone gets to play the full tournament. It will be a $25 sealed deck event. Come and be some of the first to play with the new Saviors cards. Prizes and giveaways too!
